The Vietnam Veterans of AMERICA (VVA) and Associates of the Vietnam Veterans of America (AVVA), Chapter 991 will hold their regular monthly meeting Tuesday evening, August 14th at the DAV/VVA Hall on Gardner Drive, Palestine. The meeting time is 6:00, with dinner being served at 6:30. The business session will start at 7:00. All veterans and guests are invited to join us. Membership in the VVA is open to U.S veterans who served on active duty (for other than training purposes) in the Vietnam Theater between February 1961 and May 1975, or in any duty location between August 1964 and May 1975. The AVVA is the extended family of VVA. They are made up of other veterans, parents, spouses, children, and friends. The DAV/VVA Hall is located on 927 Gardner Drive, right behind Mattern Tire Company on Texas Highway 155 North. You are welcome to join us.

Everyone is Invited - Community Bible Study MEETS EVERY MONDAY 6:30 – 7:30 PM. In the old Oakwood Feed store building 902 W. Broad St. (Hwy. 79 South) in Oakwood. Nondenominational.

The Buffalo Lions Club meets at noon the 1st and 3rd Tuesday at Dickey’s Barbecue. Everyone is invited to attend.

Community Emergency Response Team (CERT) will be meeting at the Centerville Community Center across from the Centerville Post Office on Hwy 7 at 6:00 pm on the first Thursday of every month. If you are interested in learning how to help your family, friends and neighbors in the event of a disaster please join us. Training is free.
