Bison JV cage the Owls

By Gene Pruitt

The Bison JV jumped on the owls early with a fumble recovery in the end zone and never looked back to take the 36-0 win. An Owl punt attempt resulted in a snap over the kickers head and into the end zone where Asa Henson covered for the Buffalo TD. Catch Thompson ran for the extra point to make it 8-0 early in the game.

A tough Bison defense forced another punt, this one short where Thompson hit Lance Pauler for 10 yards and the score. The failed kick made it 14-0.

The Bison again took the kickoff at their 40 and a sustained drive of 7 plays was capped with a Tyler Burk three yard run and Eric Sandate added the kick to make the score 21-0 still in the first quarter. The Bison were tough on defense all night, forcing a safety just before half by Sandate and Daniel Dittman. After the free kick Buffalo had a short field and 5 plays later Beshears got the TD from three out. He also added the extra point to make the half time score 29-0.

The second half had a clock running pretty much continuously but some good plays by Buffalo kept the Owls out of the end zone. Lance Pauler had an interception to help shut down the Owls. Tyler Burk had a few good carries over 10 yards each and Beshears got his second TD on a short carry with Pauler adding the PAT for the final score.
