Where the Music Plays
It’s hard to believe that 2010 has almost come to an end. It seems to have just rock and rolled right on by. They say," time flies when you're having fun". I guess it holds true, because I've had a good time in 2010.
With that being said, I would like to take this time to reflect back on some mu- sic events that I have had the opportunity of being a part of, and local artists I have had the honor of meeting.
What really got things rolling was Buffalo's Annual Spring Fest, where local musicians got to show off their talent. Later on in the summer, local rock band, Gypsyhead, decided to put together an outdoor concert on 4th of July weekend, right in the middle of town, it was called, Gypsy Fest. As the heat of summer grow on, The Push Water Band, decided to turn the heat up more by creating the, Push Water And Friends Pasture Fest. When summer came to an end and fall was knocking on our doors, it was time for, The Buffalo Stampede. This included a car show, lots of fun for the entire family, and of course, two nights of live music. I would like to see events like these grow bigger in 2011, and the years to come.

This year I have had the privilege of getting to meet and hear some extraordinary local artists, such as; The Dirt Road Band, The Lost Boys, drummer John Easterling, Tommy Pierce, producer/ rapper Luis Piedra (Texas Yung Gunns), Push Water, Gypsyhead, Greg Hall, Scott Serafin, Erin Nelson (Mark My Word), and, Troy Jackson (Bleed The Machine). Then there are the, not so local, artists really grabbed my attention; Abigail Maynard, David Harness (Dead End Allie), and, of course..,Heather Cathleen Cox.
When it comes down to it, each one of these artist have something in common, they share the same thing...,the love of music..., the passion of the art. I would love more than anything, to see a music fest, where all of these artist came together for a weekend long event....., right here in this town. To me, getting to spend a weekend with a line up like that, would be...,total music satisfaction.
