Two intern at First Baptist
      Two Centerville students have been interning at the First Baptist Church in Centerville, Texas over the course of the summer holidays and will continue to do so throughout the remainder of the 2009 and 2010 school year. Aaron Cook and Jill Lacey put in a total of approximately 75 hours during the summer.

      Despite the constant drizzling rain, the community of Oakwood came out strong to show their Panther team spirit. Held on the Oakwood State Bank corner, this annual tailgate party is a great way to start off Homecoming week.

Community Calendar
      “See You at the Pole” is scheduled to take place next Wednesday September the 23rd at 7 a.m. for everyone for prayer. “Saw You at the Pole” will be a youth rally scheduled to take place later that day at 6:30 p.m. Disciple Now starts October 2nd through the 4th for all churches in Leon County.

North Creek Baptist Church
      We have gotten a large group of students in the AWANA program for this year and have had to reassign the leaders to accommodate them. “praise the Lord” the last count was 43 children and 23 adults for leaders. This is just a little larger than last year. The pastor is on the prayer list as he has a spot of cancer that has to be removed. This will be done next week.

Homecoming 2009
      Traditions are what bring folks back for reunions and Buffalo High's 2009 Homecoming was rich with the school's standard fare: the big pep rally, volleyball games, Senior Walk, the crowning of the Homecoming Queen and her court, and a win for the Bison football team. Alumni crowded into Brewer Field to see old classmates and show off their families as much as to enjoy the game.

61 fantastic vehicles enter car show
      Buffalo was rocked Saturday! No, it wasn't anything to worry about, it was just the 61 entries that showed up for the Stampede Car Show. When those engines fired up and those fantastic cars, trucks, and motorcycles came roaring onto the ball field, it was a sight to see (and hear).
