Rifle resistant vests to be provided for deputies

Leon County Sheriff Kevin Ellis informed the court that he would be applying for 23 rifle resistant vests being made available to the county at no cost through the state following an initiative by Governor Greg Abbot. The $29,000 worth of vests will be worn over the regular vests in tactical situations where they might be needed.
