Margie Ree Green



Margie Ree Green was born August 27, 1934 in Leona, Texas to Walker Haven and Lucinda (Clay) Haven. She was a graduate of Douglas High School in Centerville, Texas. She lived her entire life in Centerville, Texas. She worked for Eunice Carrigan of Centerville, Texas, as well as, Madisonville and Centerville Nursing Homes. Margie worked as a Nurse’s Aide for many years. She also worked for Centerville ISD. Margie confessed Christ at an early age and was a member of Cairo Missionary Baptist Church.

She was proceeded in death by her parents; husband, Joe Lee Green; brothers, W.C. Haven & Dan Haven and grandchild, Tyrone Becks.

Margie leaves to cherish her memories seven children, Clifton Haven (Merlin) of Waxahachie, Jack Haven of Centerville, Margaret Clark (Henry) of Houston, Mary Green of Centerville, Grady Green (Barbara) of Houston, Terry Green (Enrique) of Brenham and Jerry Green (Susan) of Huntsville. She also helped raise as her children Cassandra Michelle Haven and Emmie Sue Carrigan. Also left to cherish her memories are a host of grandchildren, aunts, uncles, cousins and friends who loved her very much.

Homegoing services for Margie Green were held at 11 AM, Saturday, July 22, 2017 at Walters Funeral Home in Centerville, Texas. Rev. Kenneth Donaldson gave the eulogy and interment followed in the Ward Cemetery in the Ridge Community of Leon County, Texas.

Pallbearers: Marvin Craig, Jack Jr., Derrick Lacey, Pete Johnson, Gary Bladen Sr. & Christopher Alvarez.

Honorary Pallbearers: Clint Smith, Geroid Haven, Henry Clark, Dexter Simpson, James Young & Anthon Butler.

All arrangements were entrusted to Walters Funeral Home in Centerville, Texas.
