Leon County may soon have a drug dog

Owners of Woody’s Smokehouse have donated $10,500 to purchase a German Shepherd drug dog, which will be used throughout the 1,150 square mile county. Sheriff Kevin Ellis will approach the Leon County Commissioners Court on July 8th and ask that the donation be accepted, and then the canine will be purchased from a training facility in Bandera, Texas.
