Jean Evans, age 81, was born in Chick, Oklahoma on January 27, 1929. Her parents were Eric R. and Omie Jane (Hinkle) Lindquist, Sr. She was a Baptist by faith and, for the past five years, she had lived with her son and daughter-in-law in Oakwood. Before that, she had lived in Fort Stockton, Texas.
In Fort Stockton, she was active in the Ladies Auxiliary of the V.F.W. She enjoyed playing bingo and going to garage sales to look for antique furniture. She was a good cook and loved flowers. Mrs. Evans was preceded in death by her parents; a sister, Nora Lee Howard; a daughter in-law, Debra Evans and a great grandchild, Cameron Adams.
Her surviving family includes five sons, Jack Richard Lindquist of Trinity, Texas, James Nelson Evans and wife, Clare, of Clear Lake, Texas, Billy Gene Evans of Bay City, Texas, Noel Lee Evans and wife, Judy, of Oakwood, Texas and Samuel Wayne of Deer Park, Texas; two brothers, Eric R. Lindquist, Jr. of Alice, Texas and Joe Larry Lindquist of Sandia, Texas; two sisters, Della Faye Lindquist of Premont, Texas and Carolyn Jane Bentley of Huntsville, Texas; fourteen grandchildren; numerous great grandchildren and several great great grandchildren.
Private interment services will be held at a later date in Fort Stockton, Texas. Local arrangements were under the direction of Walters’ Buffalo Funeral Home in Buffalo, Texas.
