OHS Tailgate Party ‘parties on’

By Melissa Missildine

Despite the constant drizzling rain, the community of Oakwood came out strong to show their Panther team spirit. Held on the Oakwood State Bank corner, this annual tailgate party is a great way to start off Homecoming week.

The Boosters were serving hot dogs and sodas. The music was bumpin'. The cheerleaders were pumping up the crowd. The coaches were boosting moral. The su- perintendent was praising the coaches and the players. The School Board members were supporting. The Panther was schmoozing. People were dancing in the street. It was loud and it was proud.

This was the perfect ending to the first day back on the job for Assistant Coach Kyle Casey, who is just back from a tour in Iraq. He said he is glad to be back and ready to get back to work.
