Leon County Sheriff’s Report

At 9:45 AM, Deputy Dee Craft was dispatched to District Court in Centerville, to pick up a subject with an outstanding warrant. One was transported and booked into Leon County Jail, without incident.

At 11:42 AM, Deputy Jerry Nichols was dispatched to CR 421 in Jewett, in reference to a report of animal cruelty. Upon arrival, it was discovered that the animals were fine and the owners were being contacted.

At 12:15 PM, Deputy Tommy Page was dispatched to OSR in Normangee, in reference to a civil issue over the cost of service for replacing a tire. The matter was handled shortly and without incident and the Deputy Page then returned to service.

At 6:27 PM, Investigator Chris Rosales was dispatched to PR 2085 in Centerville, in reference to a theft occurring. A report was made of the incident.

06/28/18

At 10:02 AM, Deputy Jerry Nichols was dispatched to CR 488 in Normangee, in regards to someone wanting to make a report of trespassing and theft. A report was made of the incident.

At 3:11 PM, Deputy Tommy Page was contacted via phone in regards to squatters at a property in Jewett. A report was made of the incident.

At 4:13 PM, Deputy Jonathan Stubblefield was dispatched to Hollis St. in Normangee, in reference to a domestic disturbance. Upon arrival, it was discovered that the argument was on verbal. Both parties were separated and the call was then cleared.

At 4:53 PM, Deputy Jonathan Stubblefield was contacted by a reporting party, in regards to a dispute over an eviction. A report was made of the incident.

At 8:07 PM, Deputy Robert Kelly was dispatched to CR 146 in Centerville, in reference to a welfare concern. The person was located and found to be alright. The reporting party was notified and the call was cleared.

At 8:43 PM, Deputy Robert Kelly was dispatched to FM 1119 in Centerville, in reference to a civil matter. It was discussed that this would need to be taken up with Judge Keeling.

06/29/18

At 1:41 AM, Deputy Robert Kelly and Deputy Stephen Dicker were dispatched to PR 1230 in Centerville, in reference to an unwanted person. A report was made of the incident and the call was cleared.

At 12:37 PM, Deputy Stephen Dicker was dispatched to CR 317 in Centerville, in reference to a welfare concern. The residence was checked and nothing was found out of the ordinary. A report was made and the call was cleared.

At 12:43 PM, Deputy Cody Wood was dispatched to Oak St. in Marquez, in reference to a report of vandalism. A report was made of the incident.

At 9:23 PM, Deputy Stephen Pate was dispatched to N. Cass in Centerville, in reference to a report of criminal mischief. A report was made of the incident.

06/30/18

At 7:41 AM, Stephen Dicker was contacted via phone, in regards to a report of credit/debit card abuse. A report was made of the incident and this case was forwarded to investigations.

At 3:24 PM, Deputy Cody Wood was contacted via phone, in regards to a stolen ATV out of Marquez. A report was made of incident and the vehicle was entered in system as stolen.

At 6:34 PM, Deputy Stephen Pate received a call about a stolen travel trailer at Buffalo Ave. in Buffalo. A report was made of the incident, and upon further investigation, along with Buffalo PD, the travel trailer was located. A report was made of the incident and files will be charged.

07/01/18

At 4:08 PM, Deputy Bud Trammel was contacted via phone in regards to an incident that the reporting party wanted documented, the incident occurred at Allison Lane, in Marquez. A report was made of the incident and no charges were filed.

At 4:18 PM, Deputy Cody Wood was dispatched to Blackjack St. in Jewett, in response to an animal complaint. Upon arrival, Deputy Wood discovered that there were some dogs out loose that had been growling at people. The owners were not able to be located but a report was made of the incident. At 7:14 PM, Sgt. Jimmy Gifford was dispatched to CR 347 and 348 in Jewett, in reference to a colt out on the road. A Cowboy was contacted to remove the colt and place it at the Expo Center till the owners were contacted.

At 8:29 PM, Deputy Stephen Pate was dispatched to S. Town St. in Centerville, in reference to a disturbance. Upon arrival, Deputy Pate was unable to locate anyone at the location. The call was then cleared.

At 9:32 PM, Deputy Stephen Pate was contacted via phone, in regards to a civil matter on N. Cass St. in Centerville. The call was in regards to some bright lights at a neighbor’s house, and they reporting party was referred to the Justice of the Peace to handle the situation.

At 11:24 PM, SGT. Jimmy Gifford was dispatched CR 340 in Jewett, in reference to a family disturbance. One was arrested and transported to Leon County Jail, without incident.

07/02/18

At 3:30 AM, Deputy Stephen Pate was dispatched to Hwy 79 E. in Oakwood, in reference to a domestic disturbance. Both parties were separated at the time and one was given a courtesy ride to another location. The call was then cleared.

At 12:09 PM, Deputy Tommy Page was dispatched to SB I45 in Centerville, in reference to a call about a reckless driver. One was arrested and transported to Leon County Jail, without incident.

At 3:19 PM, Deputy Jerry Nichols was contacted via phone, in regards to credit/debit card abuse at PR 4100 in Marquez. A report was made of the incident.

At 9:31 PM, Investigator Chris Rosales attempted to make a traffic stop on a reckless driver on 3rd St. in Normangee, but the subject was needing medical attention. EMS transported the subject to St. Joseph’s in Bryan.

07/03/18

At 1:42 AM, Deputy Kristin Shaw was dispatched to FM 1618 in Buffalo, in reference to a call about a suspicious vehicle. The vehicle was unable to be located and the call was cleared.

At 6:43 AM, Deputy Jerry Nichols was dispatched to OSR in Leona, in reference to a report of subjects camping out by the road. The people were just travelers and were already moving out when Deputy Nichols arrived. The call the was cleared.

At 12:12 PM, Deputy Tommy Page was contacted via phone, in reference to a report of possible theft. A report was made of the incident but no charges were filed.

At 12:22 PM, Deputy Jerry Nichols was dispatched to N. Cass St. in Centerville, in reference to a noise complaint. Upon arrival, it was discovered that the noise was not that loud, and the reporting party was warned of abuse of 911. The call was then cleared.

At 7:34 PM, Deputy Chad Hill was dispatched to CR 224 in Oakwood, in reference to an unattended death. A report was made of the incident.

At 10:26 PM, Deputy Kristin Shaw was dispatched to FM 1512 in Jewett, in reference to a noise complaint. Upon arrival, all residents were warned to keep their music down and they complied. The call was then cleared.
