New cabins now open at Fort Boggy State Park
     As of Memorial weekend all five cabins are now available to the public at Fort Boggy State Park. These luxurious cabins are the first of their kind in Texas State Parks. Each cabin has central air and heat, so no matter the temperature you and your family can still get out an enjoy nature.

Beekeeping Workshop set for July 11
     The Leon County Master Gardeners will be hosting a Beekeeping Workshop on Wednesday, July 11, in the Great Room of Leon County Annex II. The Great Room of Leon County Annex II is located at 155 North Cass Street in Centerville. The program will begin at 12:05 p.m. and will conclude by 1:00 p.m.

Colonel George Dashiell Chapter, NSDAR, hosts honor event
     A special honor event was held by the Colonel George Dashiell Chapter, NSDAR, for Shirley Bland, a member of this chapter. She was recently elected to the incoming officers of the Texas Society Daughters of the American Revolution, and will serve as the State Treasurer. Shirley has been a member of DAR since 1993 and served in many chapter offices; Treasurer and Regent being the most recent.

Estate Planning Seminar set for July 10
     The Leon County office of the Texas A&M AgriLife Extension Service will be hosting an Estate Planning Seminar. This workshop will be held on Tuesday, July 10 at the Buffalo Civic Center, located at 942 Hill Street in Buffalo. The workshop will begin at 9:30 a.m. and last until about 3:00 p.m. Lunch will be provided for program participants.
