Photo by Mac Shadix Clay Cromeens is quick to tell you, “Call me Clay.” The engaging nine year old says that he works with his steer Buddy, “Whenever I have a chance.” Although he has participated in Pee Wee and Showmanship the upcoming Leon County Livestock Show is his first large show.

The grandson of Tom and Ginnie Davis, Clay says that he really likes being around animals and likes rodeo. He understands the business aspects of livestock shows he says. He is clear that it is about the production of food. “Show em and eat em.” Clay says smiling.

A participant in shooting sports and archery as well as raising and showing animals, Clay also is preparing a hog for the livestock show. His swine project is aptly named Pork chop.
