     The Jack Russell Terrier show was back in the Expo Center this weekend. The charming and intelligent dogs were highly excited about the events, and raced through tunnels, over obstacle courses, and conducted an extensive charm offensive. The association is an annual visitor to the Leon County Expo Center.

Grand Jury returns eighteen true bills
     Leon County District Attorney, Hope L. Knight, met with the grand jury on March 7, 2018. Assistance available for plugging of deteriorated water wells
     The Mid-East Texas Groundwater Conservation District currently has budgeted funds available to assist landowners with the cost associated with plugging abandoned or deteriorated water wells. Under this program, the District may provide up to $500 reimbursement for wells plugged after September 1, 2017.

Nyanza Price speaker for February LCRTA meeting
     Leon County Retired Teachers Association met on Wednesday, February 28, for their monthly meeting in Centerville at 12:00 pm in the Municipal Building. A delicious meal representing a typical Soul food dinner was served by hostesses, Bobbye Bullock and Jacquelyn Morrow. The room was decorated with interesting artifacts and articles representing the celebration of Black History Month.

Casting call for “Pretty, Texas” premier
