Bison split two District games

Sherry’s Shots Bison Jarrett Fishbeck (4) muscles his way to the basket. Sherry’s Shots The Bison dropped a game to Malakoff 78- 87 but rebounded to defeat the Leon Cougars 67-29. The Bison hosted a talented Malakoff team on January 17th and in a high scoring game the Bison came up on the short end of the 78-87 score.

Usually 78 points would win most games but not tonight. Jarrett Fishbeck scored 8 points in the first quarter but the Bison trailed 16-20. Ryan Rath hit his shots in the second quarter scoring 12 points but the Bison trailed 37-43 at half time. The Bison fell farther behind 58-67 in the third quarter even as Fishbeck scored 13 points. The Bison were led in the fourth quarter by Dirk Kilgore who scored 11 points but the deficit was to large and the Bison fell 78-87. Stats for the Bison: Jarrett Fishbeck scored 31 points and had 7 rebounds, Dirk Kilgore scored 27 points and had 2 rebounds, Ryan Rath scored 13 points and had 3 rebounds, Jacob Simpson scored 3 points and had 1 rebound, Dawson Adams scored 2 points and had 2 rebounds, Jamaul Randle scored 2 points and had 1 rebound, Caleb Ayres had 2 rebounds.

Sherry’s Shots The Bison traveled to Jewett on January 19th and had a much easier game as they defeated the Leon Cougars 67-29. Kilgore scored 9 points in the first quarter as the Bison raced to a 18-1 lead.

The Bison remained hot in the second quarter scoring 20 points as Randle and Rath scored 5 points each and the Bison had a 38-11 advantage. Caleb Ayers scored 4 points in the third period as the Bison held a 51-22 advantage. Ayers continued his hot shooting scoring 5 points in the 4th quarter and the Bison secured a 67-29 win.

Stats for the Bison: Kilgore scored 19 points and had 2 rebounds, Rath scored 13 points, Ayers scored 12 points and had 4 rebounds, Randle scored 9 points and had 4 rebounds, Lance Pauler scored 5 points and had 1 rebound, Timmy Simpson scored 4 points and had 3 rebounds, Fishbeck scored 3 points and had 7 rebounds, Jacob Simpson scored 2 points and had 4 rebounds, Luis Porras had 4 rebounds, Adams had 5 rebounds. Coach Thomas Orr substituted freely through out the game and everyone received a lot of playing time.

The Bison host the first place Westwood Panthers on January 23rd and travel to Elkhart for a game on January 26th.
