LCRTA holds first meeting in 2018

Contributed photo Leon County Retired Teachers Association will meet on Wednesday, January 24, at 12:00 pm in Centerville at the Municipal Building for their monthly meeting and luncheon. Hostesses for the luncheon will be Carol Ball and Beth Jones. The program will be presented by a member of the Association Member Benefits Advisors (AMBA) group. The Texas Retired Teachers Association endorses these benefits through AMBA; Dental Insurance & Vision Plan, Long Term Care Insurance, Final Expense Whole Life Insurance, Tax Deferred Annuity, First Diagnosis Cancer Insurance and Medical Air Services Association (MASA).

LCRTA is a local unit in the state Texas Retired Teachers Association. The Leon County Retired Teachers Association provides free books each year for selected groups of students, provides scholarships to graduating seniors in Leon County, donates to the Texas Retired Teachers Foundation “Helping Hand Project, provides educational workshops at their meetings throughout the year, and helps to advance the mission of the Texas Retired Teachers Association. Treat baskets were provided to Leon County Teacher lounges to show appreciation to the teachers and staff. The LCRTA members volunteer their time and resources to many groups and organizations throughout Leon County.
