From the Desk of the County Judge

County Judge Byron Ryder

My heart is grateful and full of pride after celebrating another Veterans Weekend in Leon County. First, I want to thank every person who had a part in the Veterans Outdoors Weekend and especially Eric Munoz for bring this event to Leon County. The perfect weekend ended with a very special ceremony on Saturday night honoring our local hero, Sergeant Wade Wilson. State Representative Trent Ashby was present to unveil a replica of the sign that will be placed on a 17 mile stretch of I 45 near Centerville naming Sergeant Wade Daniel

Wilson Memorial Highway. He stated this was the most honored thing he had participated in since becoming State Representative and I might add your County Commissioners Court feels the same way.

I was also able to attend other Veterans programs at our County Schools and historical and patriotic play at Hilltop Lakes. I am happy to report Patriotism, Respect, and Honor to our Veterans and the USA is alive and well in Leon County.

This weekend also marked the beginning of the March 2018 Primary Election cycle. Many of your elected officials have signed up to run again. I too have chosen to seek another term as your County Judge. I consider it an honor to serve the citizens of the county. Please stay informed and remember my door is always open for questions and suggestions.

I probably will hot have another letter until after the first of the year so let me wish you and your family a Happy Thanksgiving, Merry Christmas and a Blessed New Year.
