BHS inducts 36 new members into the National Honor Society

BHS boasts a total of 69 students in the National Honor Society. 
Sherry’s Shots BHS boasts a total of 69 students in the National Honor Society. Sherry’s Shots On October 24, 2017 Buffalo High School held a National Honor Society Induction welcoming 36 students to the prestigious organization. NHS secretary Lilah Molina opened the meeting with an invocation, followed by vice president James Rodell leading pledges to the American and Texas flags. President Nadia Garcia directed the traditional induction ceremony.

The thirty-six new inductees bring the total National Honor Society students in BHS to 69 or approximately 35% of the total students in grades 10, 11, and 12.

The NHS is a national organization established to recognize outstanding high school students. More than an honor roll, NHS serves to recognize students who have demonstrated excellence in the areas of scholarship, service, leadership and character. Character was described in the ceremony as “What you do when no one is looking.”
