Bison Homecoming Court

BHS Homecoming Queen nominees: Chelsea Harter, Shalyn Cotton, Kassidy Bell, Nadia Garcia, Lilah Adams. Sherry’s Shots BHS Homecoming Queen nominees: Chelsea Harter, Shalyn Cotton, Kassidy Bell, Nadia Garcia, Lilah Adams. Sherry’s Shots This year’s Homecoming Queen nominees will find themselves with Homecoming King nominees and a Royal Court. In the past only the Queen was selected and honored at the Annual Homecoming game.

Homecoming Queen nominees are:

Lilah Adams, daughter of Georgeanna Adams Molina and Sergio Molina. Lilah stays busy with Speech and Debate, Theater, Student Council, college classes, National Honor Society, College Honor Society and National Speech and Debate Association. She has won honors in Academic All-America in National Speech and Debate Association, National Qualifier in Big Question, State Qualifier in Poetry Interpretation and 4-time regional qualifier in events, and District Champion in Copy Editing. Lilah has been in Buffalo for 6 years and plans to attend A&M University and study Biomedical Sciences.


BHS Homecoming King nominees: Benito Rivas, Ryan Rath, James Rodell, Blyne Stauffer, David Alcantar. Sherry’s Shots BHS Homecoming King nominees: Benito Rivas, Ryan Rath, James Rodell, Blyne Stauffer, David Alcantar. Sherry’s Shots Kassidy Bell, daughter of Ray Bell and Lynn Dobbins. She has lived in Buffalo her entire life and plans to attend Sam Houston State University and earn a Bachelor’s in Business Management.

Shalyn Cotton, daughter of Shawna and Terry Cotton. She plays volleyball, softball, FCCLA. She is currently an officer in FFA and a cheerleader. She has been in Buffalo schools since kindergarten and plans to attend college to get her bachelors degree in nursing.

Nadia Garcia, daughter of Roberto Garcia and Yessenia Mata. She is Senior Class president, National Honor Society president, a Spanish Club Officer, Journalism Staff assistant editor, a member of GEMS, Theatre, Speech & Debate, Cheer and Cross Country. She has been a Cross Country regional qualifier, Golf team district champ and regional qualifier, Extemporaneous Persuasive speaking Regional qualifier, State Alternate in CX debate, member of the National Quill and Skill, member of Women’s Debate Institute, and State Finalist in Letters for Literature. Nadia has lived in Buffalo since she was three years old and plans to major in political science at A&M University, then pursue a law degree from A&M School of Law in Fort Worth, Texas.

She is a member of the National Honor Society, Captain of the 60th Line of the Bison Belles, Region IV Family Career Community Leaders of America (FCCLA) Vice President of Competitive Events, President of Buffalo FCCLA chapter, State 4-H Healthy Lifestyle Ambassador, Vice President of local 4-H Club, 4-H Leon County Council Officer, Senior Class Officer. Chelsea had attended school at Buffalo for nine years and plans to attend college and major in Family Consumer Science following graduation from BHS.

Homecoming King Nominees are:

David Alcantar, son of Sandra Alcantar and Maguel Alcantar. He is involved with Speech and Debate, UIL One Act Play and theatre. David made the AB Honor Roll his Junior Year. He has been with the Buffalo Volunteer Fire Department for one year and has gone on 2 “ride alongs,” including setting up a landing zone for a helicopter and a structure fire. He plans to complete his firefighter 1 certificate/emt basic over a hybrid schedule so he can live close to his family once training is completed. Later he would like to move to the Dallas area and work in a fire department part-time throughout the 2-year process of getting his paramedic certification. Then he wants to work as a full-time firefighter in the Dallas area for a couple years before moving to Austin where he plans to live a happy productive life.

Ryan Rath, son of Tara Rath. Ryan is involved in Spanish Club, 1 year; Varsity Football 2 years; Varsity Basketball 3 years; Varsity Tract 1 year; Elementary Mentor 1 year. He has been in Buffalo for 8 years and plans to major in Physical Therapy and play college basketball.

Benito Rivas, son of Benito Rivas and Sanjuana Rivas. Benito’s activities are football, powerlifting, track, Spanish club and FCCLA. He has been a 1st team All-District DL, Defensive Newcomer of the Year in football, 2-time Regional Qualifier in Powerlifting, Top Student in Accounting. He has lived in Buffalo for 17 years and wants to be the best he can be on and off the field. He wants to be a leader, not just as a teammate, but as a brother, friend, and members of his community. Benito wants to attend college and take the next level in football. Mostly he wants to improve his life goals daily and make his parents and family proud!

James Rodell, son of John and Ruth Rodell, grandson of James and Peggy Henson and the late Adolph Rodell and Elaine Pate Rodell Ezell. James served as freshman President, sophomore Vice President, and junior Treasurer and this year is senior class Vice- President. He has served on the President’s Board for four years. He is currently a captain of the Bison Varsity football team and is Vice-President in the National Honor Society. James is active in the 4-H Club and this is his second year to serve as the Buffalo 4-H Club President and last year served on the State 4-H Council. This is also James’ second year to serve as President for the Leon County Council and has served as District 8 officer for 2 years. James plans to graduate from college and return to Buffalo to raise another generation of “Fighting Bisons”!

Blyne Stauffer, son of Tammy Turner and Allen Stauffer. Blayne has played Varsity football for 2 years and Varsity baseball for 2 years. He has lived in Buffalo for two years and his future plans are to go into the military.

Royal Court:

Junior Duke Colton Green, son of Joellene Stevens and Rocky Green.

Junior Duchess Andrea Garcia, daughter of Roberto Garcia and Yessenia Mata.

Sophomore Duke Landon Folsom, son of Alisia Folsom and Terry Folsom.

Sophomore Duchess Samatha Pate, daughter of Mandi and Kevin Pate.

Freshman Duke (Jose) Amtrocio Villagomez, son of Hermilinda Villagomez-Lemus.

Freshman Duchess Iris Valles, daughter of Luz Elena Valles and Juan Valles.
