Former Belles of the Week
     Due to the upcoming 60th Anniversary of the Bison Belles, sponsor Amanda Harter has submitted a weekly writing featuring former Bison Belles. This week the Former Belles of the week are the daughters of Paul and Bernardine (Reeder) Hawes; Paulette Hawes Bing, Sheila Hawes Richards, and Patricia Hawes Egbert.

Belle of the Week
     This week's new Belle of the Week is Iris Valles. Iris is the daughter of LuzElena and Juan Valles. She is the granddaughter of Paulette Bing, spanning this family’s involvement in Bison Belles from year 1 to year 60. Iris a freshman at BHS, a member of the band, and she loves making friends as a Belle.

Buffalo Bison ground the Eagles 38-6
Bison now 6-0, 2-0 in district
     The Bison put their perfect record on the line last week against a very physical and determined Bruceville-Eddy team. A good defense and an early lead kept the season record intact and a 2-0 start in district, with the Bison taking the victory 38-6.

Bison JV wins over Bruceville-Eddy to remain undefeated
     This game had plenty of excitement from the beginning. Bruceville- Eddy drew blood first but the Bison answered by scoring on their first three possessions to use up the first quarter and set the pace for a 44-12 victory.

Bison eighth-grade clips the Eagles wings 28-6
     The young Bison faced a very good Bruceville-Eddy team last Thursday. The eighth-graders took a 6-6 score at the half only to put up 28 unanswered points in the second half and come away with their fourth win 28-6 and no losses.

Lady Bison start the second round with 2 losses
     The Lady Bison dropped matches against Teague and Westwood as they began the second round of district play. The Lady bison hosted Teague on October 3rd and were competitive in all 3 sets losing 13-25, 18-25 and 18-25. In the first set the teams were tied at 5 before Teague caught fire outscoring the Lady Bison 20-8 and won 25-13.

Hilltop Lakes Golf News
     October 5, 2017 the Hilltop WGA had 13 ladies come out to play golf. Game of the Day for the 18-Hole players was “2 best Ball of 4”.  18-Hole Ladies results: 1st Place Team Leonor Holland, Shirley Schiamara, Nancy Verhines Bobbie Lueking.  Low Putts - Shirley Schiamara with 28 putts.  Birdies - Georgia Gibson on #10 and Bobbie Lueking on #18
