Leon County Pond Management Workshop set for August 29 in Centerville

The Leon County office of the Texas A&M AgriLife Extension Service will host the Leon County Pond Management Workshop on August 29 at the Centerville First United Methodist Church, located at 245 South Commerce Street in Centerville. The workshop will begin at 9:00 a.m. The cost to participate is $25 per person if pre-registration is received by August 28. At the door, registration is $30 per person. Lunch will be included with pro- gram registration. Registration can be made at the Leon County Extension Office, located on the third floor of Leon County Annex 1 at 113 West Main in Centerville or by calling 903-536-2531.

The presenter for this workshop will be Dr. Todd Sink, Assistant Professor in the Department of Wildlife and Fisheries from Texas A&M University. The educational topics that Dr. Sink will cover during this workshop include: Water Quality, Pond Management, Stocking and Fisheries Management, and Aquatic Vegetation Identification and Control. Attendees with Texas Department of Agriculture private pesticide applicator licenses may earn three continuing education units (CEUs) for their participation in this workshop.
