Aola Lusk Schannon

On Tuesday, May 3, 2017, Aola Lusk Schannon departed this life. She gave up her place in this world and entered a place in paradise. A mother, grandmother, aunt, cousin and friend. She was born July 4, 1932 to Henry and Callie Lusk in Centerville, Texas. Her sister and brothers were: Ed Lee Lusk, Elrena Henry, and John Lusk.

Aola began her walk with God as a member of the Greater Oak Grove Missionary Baptist Church in the Egypt Community of Centerville. Later, in her life she became a member of Zion Hill Missionary Baptist Church in Houston, Texas, where she remained until she could no longer attend.

She married Abe Schannon and unto this union three children were born: Sandra, Sedrick and Schonda - all of which, she loved beyond this world. A special nephew, Jessie Henry (Joe Boy) that loved her dearly and never let go of her love.

Her mother (Callie Lusk), father (Henry Lusk), daughter (Sandra Stephenson), sister (Elrena Henry), brothers (Ed Lee Lusk, Josh Lush) all preceded her in death.

Left to cherish her memories are: one son, Sedrick Schannon, and daughter, Shonda Schannon. Grandchildren: Sucrezia Steed (Waynmon), Schantazia Schannon, Sharissa Schannon, Sedrick Schannon, Jr., Symanthah Schannon, and Deyon Allen. Great Grandchildren: Denver and Denmin Steed. Two sisters-in-law: Dorothy Lusk, Parthena Lusk Moore, and a host of nieces, nephews, relatives, and friends. Two very special friends, Dorothy Quintero and Brenda Rice.

Services were held at 12 Noon, Saturday, May 13, 2017 at the Walters Funeral Home in Centerville, Texas. Rev. D.F. Johnson officiated the service, and interment followed in the Burton Cemetery. Pallbearers: Jessie Henry, Kevin Johnson, Waynmon Steed, Yancy Foreman, Sedrick Gilbert, Fredrick Gilbert, David Johnson and Aje Thompson. Honorary pallbearers: Jessie J. Henry, Frank Henry, Bobby Lusk, Roy Henry, Johnny Henry, F.M. Robinson, Scott Robinson, R.L. Robinson, Larry Smith, Tommie Thompson and Michael Hagen.

Arrangements were entrusted to Walters Funeral Home in Centerville, Texas.
