Sherry’s Shots Bobby Fishbeck, John Rodell, Sr., and Jack Helmcamp take the oath for the BISD Board of Trustees. Sherry’s Shots Buffalo Independent School District held a school board election on May 6, 2017 with three positions up for grabs. Bobby Fishbeck, Position 4, and Jack Helpcamp, Position 5, were both unopposed. Each man received 122 votes.

Incumbent Brandon Lack and John Rodell, Sr. squared off for the Position 2 spot.

With an extremely low turnout, only 5% of registered voters cast ballots, Rodell won a decisive victory over Lack. A total of 115 or 79% of votes went to Rodell and 29 or 20% were cast for Lack.

Lack was appointed to the Board in October 2016 after the Board interviewed both Lack and Rodell.

“I just wanted to let the people decide,” said Rodell concerning his victory at the polls.

The three newly elected Board members immediately took their positions at the Buffalo Independent School Board table.
