Five BHS track athletes advance to Area

Teams from Buffalo and Leon competed in the 18-3A district track meet at Westwood High School on Wednesday, April 12. For the boys, Malakoff, with 140 points, was the District champion team by one point over Teague. Elkhart’s girls ran away with the team title, followed by Malakoff.

Competition was tough, but several BHS students finished in the top four in their respective events and will be advancing to the Area meet.

Buffalo distance man Tyler Sanders had second place finishes in both the 3200M and 1600M runs, and finished among the Top Ten Individuals at the meet.

Calvin Stephens took 2nd in Pole Vault, clearing 11’6”.

BHS is sending two hurdlers to the Area Meet. Dawson Adams finished 2nd in the 300M hurdles and 4th in the 110M hurdles.

BHS’ Dalton Adams and Dirk Kilgore tackle the final hurdle in the 100M race, where Adams finished 3rd to advance to the Area meet. Both hurdlers will be advancing in the 330M Hurdles where Adams finished 2nd and Kilgore 4th at the 18-3A District meet in Westwood Wednesday.
