Three Leon County sheriff’s deputies indicted, terminated

Leon County Sheriff Kevin Ellis Leon County Sheriff Kevin Ellis Three Leon County Sheriff’s deputies have been terminated after being indicted for misuse of official information.

Deputies Christian Negron, Dustin Bresko and Brandon Monk were indicted on Friday afternoon. The news was first reported on the KBTX web site. The information did not appear on the Sheriff’s Department Facebook page as of Monday morning. This newspaper did not receive a press release about the incident.

The deputies are accused of sending sensitive information to Normangee Police Officer Matthew Cowan who is reported to be under investigation by the sheriff’s office for assault.

Leon County Sheriff Kevin Ellis was quoted by KBTX as saying that he called in the Texas Rangers as quick as he heard that his deputies may have been involved.
