Lady Bison win Bi-District Championship
The Lady Bison faced the Keene Lady Chargers on February 13th in Corsicana and won the Bi-District Championship 69-49. The game was tied at 9 early but the Lady Bison went on a 16-6 run to pull in front 25-15 at the end of the first quarter. The first quarter scoring was led by Jordan Jenkins with 10, Samantha Pate scored 7, Mollie Dittmar 6 and Lauren Pate 2.
The Lady Bison scored 20 points in the second quarter and led 45-30 at half time. The scoring in the second quarter was led by Dittmar with 10, Samantha Pate scored 6 and Lauren Pate chipped in with 4.
The Lady Bison continued to put the pressure on by scoring 15 in the third quarter. Dittmar scored 7, Samantha Pate 3, Jenkins and Hannah Eakin added 2 each and Asia Bradley scored 1 point. Both teams had trouble scoring in the final quarter as the Lady Bison tallied 9 but won handily 69-49. Samantha Pate, Lauren Pate and Jenkins scored 3 points each.
For the game Dittmar led the Lady Bison as she scored a double double scoring 23 points and pulling down 14 rebounds. Samantha Pate scored 19 and had 2 rebounds, Jenkins scored 15 and had 6 rebounds, Lauren Pate scored 9 and had 2 rebounds, Eakin scored 2 points and Bradley scored 1 point and collected 5 rebounds.
The Lady Bison have 2 speedy guards in Jenkins and Samantha Pate. Dittmar and Bradley are aggressive under the boards and Lauren Pate knocks down 3 pointers and the entire team plays solid defense. Jenkins is the point guard and sets up the Lady Bison offense. Each starter is capable of scoring 15- 20 points so the opponent cannot double team any one player or someone will be left open to take the shot. The next opponent for the Lady Bison has not been determined.
