Leon County Master Gardeners did another "bang up" job when they decorated the Leon County Courthouse Square. For several years LCMGs have created lovely Christmas decorations for the Square. The Leon County Commissioners Court provide the funds and the LCMGs provide the work and talent.  More...

After opening ceremonies of the Leon County Commissioners Court, but before agenda items were addressed, Leon County Judge Byron Ryder called Jim Witt to the front of the Courtroom and presented him with a plaque of appreciation. Several members of the Buffalo and Oakwood 4-H Clubs recently entered contests in the District 8 4-H competition at Belton and came back home with 1st place honors. One team, Sasha Duck, Annika Stevens, Callie Harter and Gracie Kelly placed 1st in Intermediates.  More...
Don Vernon McKinney, Sr., 90, died at ETMC Hospital in Tyler, TX on December 4, 2016. He was born in Medina, TX on February 17, 1926 to Minta and Clyde McKinney, who have preceded him in death. He was also preceded in death by his wife of over 66 years, June, and a son, Don V. McKinney, Jr., along with two brothers, Raymond McKinney and William McKinney.  More...

The Lady Bison defeated T.K. Gorman on December 6th and then took the short trip to Centerville on December 8-10 and won their tournament. The Lady Bison build a 7-point lead against T.K. Gorman after the first quarter and led 29-14 at half time. The Lady Bison maintained their 15 point lead after 3 quarters as they led 39-24 going into the final quarter. More...
