History was made by the Bison on November 11th as they defeated the Triple A Academy Stallions 42-0 to win their first playoff game in 55 years. The Bison have won District some times but failed to win the Bi-District game. In 1961 the Bison defeated Magnolia by two touchdowns in the Bi-District game but lost in the Regionals to Hamster-Fennet (might be misspelled) 6-8. More...

The annual Turkey Shoot at the Lone Star Community Center on Saturday, November 12, attracted a group of shooters from all around the state, who came to enjoy the beautiful fall day and take home a turkey or two. Melanie Menefee, with the Speech and Theatre department, made a presentation to the BISD Board at their regular meeting. Her speech and debate teams have participated in four meets to date and there are twice the number of students in the program this year as last year. Delbert McKinney, 61, of Centerville passed away suddenly November 10, 2016 in Waco, Texas. Funeral services were held at 10 A.M., Saturday, November 12, 2016 at the Walters Funeral Home in Centerville, Texas. Bros. The Bison Belles performed at the first round playoff game between BHS and Triple A Academy at Friday night's gridiron match. The young ladies performed a beautiful pom routine led by Captain Gracie Davis.
