The Buffalo Independent School District held its regular meeting, immediately following the Public Hearing, on February 15, 2016. Following opening ceremonies Superintendent Lacy Freeman updated the Board on Leon/Freestone Counties Appraisal District Updates.  Total value of the district, in both counties, was determined by the two county appraisers and came to $411 million.   More...

Buffalo Independent School District held a Public Hearing on February15, 2016 to give the public an opportunity to examine results of the Buffalo ISD Academic Performance Report (TAPR). Hearts and valentines and cupids arrows were all on display at the Lone Star Community Center when a group of young people met to enjoy a Mother/Son - Father/ Daughter Dance in the gymnasium of the Center. Funeral services for Jerry Robert Ansley, Sr., age 69, of Buffalo, Texas were held at 2 PM, Wednesday, February 10, 2016 at the Walters’ Buffalo Funeral Home in Buffalo. Pastors Chuck Davis and Loyd Lane officiated and burial was in the Buffalo City Cemetery. A visitation was held from 6 PM until 8 PM on Tuesday evening at the funeral home.  More...

After an 82-90 overtime loss to the district leader Trinity Tigers on February 9th the Bison rebounded to defeat the Elkhart Elks 67-55 on February 12th in a must win game for the Bison. The game against Trinity was a nail biter as the Bison trailed 20-21 after the 1st quarter and were behind 36-41 at the intermission. More...
