As of February 16 Leon County will have two new ExtensionAgents in its office. Richard Parrish, CEA-AG/NR, and Laura Petty, CEA-4-H, a husband and wife team, will join Amanda Shortt, CEA-FCS, to complete the Leon County AgriLife Extension team. Parrish will focus on Agriculture, Petty on 4-H and Shortt’s expertise will be in Family and Adult programs.  More...

In addition to some outstanding basketball games on Friday night at the BHS gymnasium, parents and fans were treated to several special events before and during the games. To kick things off the Buffalo 4-H Club prepared and served omelets in the cafeteria area of the school and during the games 4-H members auctioned baked goods.  More...

Nathan Gene Garland, age 56, passed away Sunday evening, January 3, 2016, surrounded by his wife, Nancy, family and close friends in Tyler, Texas. His life was cut short by complications resulting from leukemia.  More...

The Buffalo Bison traveled to Westwood on January 5th and faced a much taller team but the Bison have speed and quickness and came through with a 70-63 victory. The Bison had a good 1st quarter leading 21-14 and increased that to a 43-30 lead at intermission. Westwood came on strong in the 3rd quarter and the Bison lead was down to 5 beginning the final period.  More...
