On November 3, 2015 some citizens of Leon County exercised their right to vote when 744 voters made their way to the polls in various locations around the county. Two hundred seventy eight voted early so 1,041 or 9.71% of the 10,722 Leon County folks made their voices heard.  More...

Leon County Commissioners and other elected officials dedicated a marker and pecan tree in honor of Sgt. Wade Wil- son, a Leon County son who died while in combat in Afghanistan in 2012. Gardner Farms in Centerville donated the tree that was planted on the southwest corner of the Courthouse lawn. Judge Byron Ryder read a letter of appreciation from Sgt. Graveside services for Wilma Watson, age 87, were held on Friday, November 6, 2015, at 1:00p.m. at Marquez Cemetery in Marquez. Rev. Richard Gillet officiated.  There was visitation at the funeral home.  Mrs. Watson passed away on Tuesday, October 27, 2015, at her residence in Austin.  More...

The Centerville Lady Tigers defeated Kerens in Bi-District and Colmesneil in Area to advance to the Regional Quarterfinals to be played at Rudder High School against Normangee on November 10th with tip off at 6:00 pm. The Lady Tigers traveled to Fairfield for their Bi-District game against Kerens on November 3rd. The Lady Tigers won in 3 sets dominating each set winning 25-8, 25-7 and 25-15.  More...
