Fans on the sidelines of Friday night’s football game, between the Buffalo Bison and New Waverly Bulldogs, were caught off guard when, before the kickoff, play began with a pitchout from quarterback Logan Freeman to #35, Justin Foley. A rapidly improving Expo Center was the site on Saturday October 10 for Leon County’s annual Veterans Day celebration. A new gate/entryway donated by Parthena Moore was the first thing to greet the veterans who attended. A more enclosed arena and an improved parking lot were also impressive.  More...

An old fashioned dinner theatre show organized and funded by Parthena Moore with all proceeds going to repair the Gym roof at Lone Star Community Center went off without a hitch on Saturday night, October 10. Following a dinner catered by Katie Watson the eighty to one hundred attendees were treated to music by the Choice Country Band and contortionist fiddler Yogi Baird.  More...
Kerry Dean Burks, of Buffalo, Texas, passed away on October 4, 2015 in Fairfield, Texas. He was sixty years old. Funeral services were held at 2:00 p.m., Thursday, October 8, 2015 at the Walters’ Buffalo Funeral Home in Buffalo, Texas. Bro. Phil Smith officiated the service. Interment followed in the Siloam Cemetery, south of Buffalo, in rural Leon County.  More...
The Leon County Extension Education Association met on September 22nd, after 2 months off for the summer. The meeting was called to order by President, Michaelene Perry, with pledges the American and Texas flags. The Centerville Tigers opened district play against the Lovelady Lions and suffered a 28- 64 loss. The Tigers took the opening kickoff and marched down the field and after 4 first downs a 4th down try gained 2 but the Tigers need 4 and the Lions took over on their 8 yard line. The Lions scored in 5 plays and after the PAT led the Tigers 7-0.  More...
