The Buffalo City Council voted unanimously Monday night to approve settlement negations with Anderson Bullin to clear the questions about the overage trailer that was allowed to be moved into the city in violation of city ordinance. Bullin purchased the trailer from the original owner after adjacent property owners protested. Bullin has been denied utility hookups for the last several months.  More...

Eleven year-old Savannah Helmcamp, a sixth grader at Buffalo Junior High, got a great start to the season, bagging her very first deer on opening morning. The 10-point buck measured 17” and was killed on family property with a .223. Savannah was hunting with her dad, Kent Helmcamp, when she spotted the buck and had to go for it.  More...
Noragene Taylor Pruitt, 88, of Fairfield, died Friday, October 18, 2013 at her residence surrounded by loving family. Services were held Sunday, October 20, 2013 at Calvary Baptist Church with Rev. Terry Skinner officiating. Interment followed at Fairfield Cemetery. Pallbearers were Michael Shipp, John Shipp, Donald Head, John David Altman, Lindale Phillips, Mark Chavers and Tommy Miller.  More...
