In the opening minutes of last week’s meeting of the Leon County Commissioners Court, Judge Byron Ryder took the opportunity to invite everyone to attend a fund raiser under the pavillion at the new Expo Center on October 19th at 10:00. Funeral services for Mr. Travis Carlisle, age 87, were held on Tuesday, October 1, 2013, at 2:00p.m. at the All Around Cowboy Church in Marquez, Texas. Bro. Lee Weiler officiated. Interment followed the services at Concord Cemetery in Concord with the U.S. Army providing honors.  Visitation was held on Monday, with the family present from 6:00p.m. until 8:00p.m. at the funeral home.  More...

The Lady Bison brought their game to a new level and added two district wins this week.  The Buffalo girls turned in a hard-fought win at Marlin Tuesday afternoon in a match that went to five games.  BHS controlled Game One, with Allison Grissett knocking down several kill shots and Marissa Jones contributing several aces on her serve.
