Ronald McDonald gets a laugh out of Buffalo Mayor Royce Dawkins as the owner of the local McDonald’s franchise, Kevin Lilly looks on. A standing room only crowd enjoyed the ribbon cutting which was highlighted by the ribbon made up of $5 bills being donated to the Buffalo Stampede. The City of Oakwood started looking at putting in a new water well just over a year ago when their main well went down and they were forced to turn to their back-up well to take on the job of supplying water to its residents. Naomi McClerkin, 90, of Lake Jackson passed away at a Brazosport, Texas nursing home on July 31, 2013 after a lengthy illness.  She was born July 14, 1923 at the Timmons farm, Flo Community to William Arthur and Allie Jones Timmons. Naomi was the seventh of their eight children and the youngest daughter.  More...

The Bison opened their 2013 season on the road with a convincing 55-21 win over (3A) Hillsboro High School. The BHS coaching staff mixed things up nicely and five different players contributed scores, with the Bison defense setting up two of the touchdowns.  More...
