Tigers drop one to New Waverly

Paul’s Photo The Centerville Tigers played tough the entire game overcoming a 30-18 deficit but the shots wouldn’t fall in the final period and they lost 62-52. The Tigers trailed by only 3 after the 1st quarter but scored only 7 points in the second period and trailed 18-30 at halftime. The Tigers scorched the nets at the beginning of the third quarter and went on a 18-4 run to pull ahead 36-34 before trailing at the end of the 3rd quarter 36-41. Coach Kyle Hardee’s team put forth a good effort in the final period but lost by a 52-62 score.

Tulley Pickens led the scorers with 19 points and also had 5 rebounds. Jamal High tossed in 12 points and pulled down 12 boards. Garrett Chase added 6 points and Ryan Payne contributed 5 points.

The Tigers travel to Anderson for a game on February 1st and host Onalaska on February 5th. The final 2 games have the Tigers traveling to Hearne for a game on February 8th and hosting Trinity on February 12th.
