Bison men fall to Marlin, win over Riesel to go 3-2 in district
     VS MARLIN The Bison men hit the road on Tuesday to face the Marlin Bulldogs, a strong team undefeated in district play. It was an emotional game for the Bison, who had all attended the funeral earlier in the day of the mother of team member Cameron Hughes (#25).

Bison powerlifting team begins 2013 competition season
     The BHS powerlifting team, coached by Clay Hodges and Anthony Mandani, competed in their first meet this weekend. Every Bison athlete participating earned a medal at the Elkhart Power Lifting Meet.

     The Lady Bison continued their bid for the district championship, chalking up two more district wins last week to go 5-1 in district play after the first round of competition.

JV Girls use balanced offense to defeat Riesel
     In Junior Varsity action, the Lady Bison had an open date on January 8 at Marlin. In their January 11th game with Reisel at the BHS gym, both teams got off to a slow start. Tabitha Calhoun led the Lady Bison effort but they trailed by 4 at halftime, 11-15.

     The Junior Varsity Bison continued their domination of district opponents with wins over Marlin and Riesel this week.

CHS Lady Tigers still perfect in district
     The Centerville Lady Tigers defeated Onalaska and Anderson-Shiro to up their season mark to 19-5 but more importantly to stay undefeated in district with a 7-0 record. On January 8th the Tigers traveled to Onalaska and had little trouble as they won 72-15. The Tigers led 26-4 after the 1st quarter and 41-6 at half time. They outscored Onalaska 31-9 in the final two quarters and won 72-15.

Tigers defeat Onalaska and Anderson-Shiro
     The Centerville Tigers added two more district wins last week, beginning with a victory over Onalaska on the road on January 8th.  On their home court on January 11th, the Tigers had too much quickness and speed against a taller Anderson-Shiro Owl team, and it proved to be the deciding difference as CHS prevailed 59-36.

OHS Panthers receive six-man football’s All-District honors
     The Six-Man All-District standing are in and, once again, the Oakwood Panthers varsity football team received its fair share of honors.  Junior Damiyne Durham walked away with the Six-Man District Player of the Year award, which comes as no surprise to anyone who has seen him dominate the grid iron.
