Paul’s Photos The City of Jewett was surprised when they received a letter from an organization named Freedom from Religion, in Missouri, demanding that the nativity scene on display in the City Park be removed. The Jewett City Council immediately convened and voted to keep the nativity scene as is and many Jewett citizens are singing the praises of the councilmen.

Leon County Judge Byron Ryder said he was told, “So many Jewett residents are putting up Nativity scenes in their yards, we may win the prize for having the most of anywhere in the country.”

What business is it of someone who doesn't even live in the community or even the state that there is a nativity scence there?! they don't pay the taxes there or the maintance for the place, they need to mind their own business. People butt their noses in to other peoples business and starts trouble. We're not in that area anymore but ours is up and will be every year till the day we die or someone else pays our bills and taxes and feeds us!!!!!!!!

It's about time we stand up for what we believe in! That's what is wrong with our society now- we bow down to people to try to avoid offending them and look who suffers from it. Our traditions and beliefs are vanishing because of it! I don't want to offend anyone but don't offend me and my beliefs either! Besides we are capable of doing what's appropriate for our small towns without out of state interference. Stay in your backyard and we will stay in ours! We honor each individuals religion here and we don't judge our friends by their beliefs so you don't either! We made that mistake already by letting a select individuals decide that prayer and displine was forbidden in our schools and look at the schools now and the violence within!

It is such a good thing to see people stand up for Christ. If you do not believe or feel the same way then don't look when you drive by. We have our rights to believe in our faith as you have your right to your beliefs, but do not feel like you have the right to deny us our religion!!!
Yea for yall. It isn;t
