Community Calendar

A candlelight service will be held at Davis Chapel Church on December 23 at 6 P.M. Reverend Edwards will speak. A fellowship revival will be held December 27-28 at 7 P.M. each night.

Women’s Day will be held on December 30 at 11 A.M. at Brown Chapel Church. A Watch Meeting is planned for 10 P.M. December 31.

Leon County Military Families and Blue Star Mothers meet on the 2nd Tuesday of each month at various locations. If you are interested

BUFFALO PUBLIC LIBRARY FREE COMPUTER CLASSES - Buffalo Public Library is offering FREE Computer Classes every Monday from 9:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. The classes being offered during the month of October are: “Email Basic” (learning how to manage your email account) and “Microsoft Word” (creating documents and learning how to copy, cut, paste, etc.) ALL

CLASSES ARE FREE and available to ALL. Contact the Librarian to register as all classes are limited in size. One-On-One Proficiency instruction is available upon request. For more information or to register for a class contact the Buffalo Public Library at (903) 322-4146.

The newly-formed OAKWOOD COMMUNITY HELPING HANDS CLUB has established that their meetings will be on the second Thursday of each month at 10 a.m. in the annex of the Methodist Church in Oakwood. We welcome new members who will share in ways to help the community and enjoy fellowship. For more information contact J.R. McKenzie 903-545-2667.

Lone Star Patriots of Leon County’s monthly meeting is held on the 4th Thursday.

Special Prayer Meeting - Each Thursday 7:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Hiway Tabernacle Church of God, Highway 75 South.

Flo Volunteer Fire Department meets the first Thursday of each month for their monthly business meeting at 7:00 p.m.

Oakwood now has an Alcoholics Anonymous meeting place. The old Henry Chapel Church, on the corner of Moody and River Bend Road (1 block off Main St. before the 542/831 split), now houses AA meetings Monday- Friday at 8 p.m. and Sunday at 10 a.m.. The Country Stitchin’ Bee meets every Wednesday from 10-4 at Country Living Quilts in Flynn. 936-396-2889.

The Buffalo Library is offering a program to help adults improve their reading skills, Thursdays from 2-4 p.m. To register, contact the Buffalo Library at 903-322-4146.
