Lady Bison volleyball teams continue to have their struggles
     The Lady Bison Varsity volleyball team travelled to Palestine on Tuesday to play Westwood again. The Lady Tigers have a considerable size advantage over BHS and had won their first meeting in three straight. On their home court the Lady Tigers were even more confident, and sent the Lady Bison packing quickly with three more straight losses, 25-7 and 25-9.

Bison blank Cougars in hard-fought contest
     The Buffalo Bison came out on the winning end of Friday's 14-0 battle with the Leon Cougars, but the game was tighter than the score would indicate. Leon was able to move the ball well through the middle of the field, forcing BHS' defense put up a wall at the goal line -- which they did. Again and again.

Centerville Tigers overwhelm the Elkhart Elks 44-6
     The undefeated Centerville Tigers kept their winning streak intact as they defeated the Elks 44-6 to go 3-0 on the young season. The Tigers demonstrated a strong running game as they controlled the tempo of the game. The game began with a slow rain but after about 15-20 minutes the rain ceased and the fans enjoyed the game -- especially the Tiger fans.

Centerville Lady Tigers keep on winning
     The Lady Tigers recorded wins over College Station and the Buffalo Bison last week. The Tigers traveled to College Station on September 11th and swept the 3 game set 25-20, 25-10, and 25-13. Taelor Edgin had 11 kills, and Madison Taylor recorded 9 kills. Setter Amber Barker had 24 assists. Magyn Harris had 8 digs, Layne Wilson and Taylor came through with 5 digs each.Edgin blocked 4 shots.

OHS Panthers fall short against Milford
     The Oakwood Panthers traveled to Milford on Friday night to take on the Bulldogs. Although it was a scrappy fight, OHS' attempt at a come- back fell short and the Bulldogs took the win 63-54.

     The Oakwood Lady Panthers traveled to Elkhart last week to play against the Lady Elks. EHS took all three games 25-19, 25-16, and 25- 17.

JV Bison fall to Cougars in nail biter
     The eagerly-anticipated season openers between Buffalo and Leon's junior high teams were cancelled due to storms which swept through the area late Thursday afternoon. By 7:00 the worst of the weather had passed, the skies were lightning-free and the Junior Varsity teams were able to square off as scheduled.

4th Annual Stampede 5K Results
     The fourth running of the Buffalo Stampede 5K and 1-mile Fun Run drew a small but eager crowd of runners to enjoy a race through the beautiful East Texas countryside. The 8:00 a.m. race kicked off the September 15th events.
