The family and friends of U.S. Airforce AFC Kirby McNair welcomed him home on Thursday with a surprise party at Rancho Viejo. "Gramma" Sue High orchestrated the get-together, and was the first in line to hug the young man who hasn't been home since last November. Elmer P, and Jewel Ward Library in Centerville was a recipient of the generosity of the Encana Corporation on Saturday as employees of that company held a fund raiser on the parking lot of the County Square. Charles Leonard Strawther, son of Aaron Nealy and Gracie Standley Strawther, was a descendant of a Texas Pioneer family whom history recognizes as on of Austin’s “Old Three Hundred” He was born January 3, 1938 in Madison County, Texas. The 2012 All-District honorees have been announced for District 14-AA. Four-year letterman Lindsey McGill moved to the shortstop position this year and led her team on the field. She was selected for First Team All-District honors.  Two Lady Bison made the Second Team All-District: Senior Samantha Atkinson at first base and freshman Taryn Morman at catcher.   More...
The Leon FFA held its annual meeting to present awards and name new officers, on May 3 at the Agriculture Barn at LHS. Approximately 50 people were in attendance.
