A couple of weeks ago Oakwood’s one and only grocery store, the Super Pantry, was robbed in the middle of the night. It happened again last Tuesday night. Rebecca Irene Cunningham, 86, of Fairfield, passed away Friday, April 20, 2012 in Fairfield. Private memorial services will be at a later date in Tennessee. Mrs. Cunningham was born April 9, 1926 in Knoxville, Tennessee. She had been a resident of Fairfield for fifty years. The Lady Bison 's season finale came at Teague on Tuesday in the form of a lopsided loss. The Lady Lions jumped out to a 17-0 lead after two innings. Buffalo's Taylor Rutledge and Lindsey McGill got on base in the top of the third and both girls scored on a single by Juana Vazquez, but it was not enough to keep the contest going and the final score was 17-2.  More...
