JVmen fall to Leon

Turnovers plagued the JV Bison men early in their game with Leon on Friday, and Riley Noey and company took good advantage of the opportunities afforded to them. As a result, BHS spotted Leon 18 points before Lane Shelton finally put the Bison on the board with a pair of free throws and the score was 2-18 after one. George Holguin sparked Buffalo's offense in the second quarter and they outscored the Cougars to close to within ten, 15-25, at halftime. The third quarter belonged to Leon as Morgan Vestal and Hudson Merry led the Cougars to a 22-40 advantage going into the final period. Buffalo outdistanced their opponent in the fourth on the strength of three-pointers by Shelton and Jose Nava, but the Bison were not able to make up the early deficit and lost the game, 28-43.

Shelton led the Bison with 13 points. Nava finished with 5, Holguin and O.T. Garcia added 4 each and Adam Simpson tacked on 2 free throws.

For Leon, Merry led the scoring with 12, followed by Morgan Vestal (9), Noey (8), Hunter Vestal (4), Nathan Salazar (4). PeeWee Singh and Caleb Wilson each sank a bucket and Cody (#33) connected on 2 free throws.
