Joshua David “Jay Bird” Slatter

Memorial services for Joshua David “Jay Bird” Slatter, age 29, of Waxahachie and formerly Buffalo, Texas were held 11 AM, Thursday, January 26, 2012 at the Evangelistic Temple Church at 3011 North Loop 256, Palestine, Texas 75803. Jason Harris officiated the service.

Visitation was held on Wednesday, January 25, 2012 from 6 PM to 8 PM at the Walters Buffalo Funeral Home in Buffalo, Texas.

Joshua David “Jay Bird” Slatter was born on February 16, 1982 in Corsicana, Texas to Paul & Glenda Ann (Watson) Slatter. He was a 2000 graduate of Buffalo High School and worked as a truck driver. He enjoyed reading, playing video games and anything having to do with guns and cars. His greatest joy in life were his nieces and nephews. Joshua’s family describes him as being the “best uncle ever!!” He will be dearly missed by his family and everyone who had the pleasure of knowing him. Joshua passed away Monday, January 23, 2012 in Waxahachie. He is preceded in death by his paternal grandparents, Bill & Zelda Slatter and maternal grandparents, Jim & Irene Watson.

Survivors include parents, Paul & Glenda Slatter of Buffalo; brothers & sistersin law, Paul & Stefanie Slatter of Buffalo and Coleman & Becca Shultz of Buffalo; sister & brother-in-law, Denise & James Parker of Buffalo; nieces, Misty Gonzalez, Ashton Parker and Kyndall & Kaylee Shultz; nephews, James Parker, Ryan Slatter and Keegyn Shultz and great niece & nephew, Haylee & Aden Gonzalez.

Walters Buffalo Funeral Home in Buffalo, Texas was in charge of all arrangements.
