Carole Ann Ellis

Funeral services for Carole Ann Ellis, age 69, of Centerville were held at 10 AM, Saturday, January 28, 2012 at the Walters Funeral Home in Centerville. Bro. Dwayne Word, pastor of Chapel of the Hills Assembly of God Church in Centerville, and Bro. Dean Ferguson, pastor of First Baptist Church in Centerville, officiated the service. Interment was in the Centerville Cemetery.

Carole Ann Ellis was born on October 21, 1942 in Leon County, Texas to Luther & Vivian (Welch) Taylor. Mrs. Ellis worked as a homemaker and enjoyed quilting, sewing and traveling. She also worked alongside her late husband, Bill, while he was the owner of W.T. Ellis Exxon and Wrecker Service from 1959 - 1992. Ann was a wonderful mother and grandmother and had many friends in surrounding towns. She was a lifelong resident of Centerville and was a member of both Chapel of the Hills Assembly of God Church and FBC Centerville. Mrs. Ellis passed away Wednesday, January 25, 2012 in Bryan following a long battle with cancer. She is preceded in death by both of her parents; husband, W.T. “Bill” Ellis and sister, Bernice Moore.

Survivors include daughter and son-in-law, Lisa & Robert Cawley of Centerville; sister, Ruth Moore of Teague; grandchildren, Michelle Cawley and Caitlin Johnson & husband, Brandon, great granddaughter, Hannah Cawley; a special cousin who was like a sister, Lela Easterling of Kurten and numerous nieces and nephews.

Pallbearers were Dave Jarvis, Dewayne Bell, Norman Blake, Ronald Gregory, John Franks and Ben Carrigan. Honorary Pallbearers were be Raymond Ellis, Harold Ellis, Jimmy Ellis, Billy Bob Moore, Edward Clark and Mike Davis.

In lieu of flowers the family of Mrs. Ellis requests that donations be made to St. Joseph Foundation: The Manor, 2333 Manor Dr., Bryan, TX 77802 or Hospice Brazos Valley, 502 W. 26th St., Bryan, TX 77803

Walters Funeral Home in Centerville, Texas is in charge of all arrangements.
