Oakwood Junior High basketball update

The OJHS Boys basketball team got an unusual treat at last Thursday's home game. They got two games in one night. The boys were split into two teams to play against the Alto Yellow Jackets. In GAME ONE the Panthers took the sting out of the first group of Yellow Jackets, winning 18-6. Tony Maldonado scored 8 points, Trey Minter had 4 points, and Cameron Brummett got 6 points. In GAME TWO, the second group of OJH Panthers overpowered the second set of Yellow Jackets, 48-22. Scoring for OJHS were: Brandon Venable (6 points), Tyler Scoggin (14), Jecoby Dawson (5 points, including a three-pointer), David Allen (14 points, including 2 three-pointers); Chris Newsome (7 points, with a three-point shot) and Ethan Edgemon (2).

The Lady Panthers of OJHS hosted the Alto Lady Jackets at home last week. The Lady Panthers fell short of the win by a score of 16-35.

In this game, Madison Dunn had the high scorer with 6 points. Makayla Feibel and Ashlyn Duck picked up 3 points a piece and Tori Neel and Morgan Mulson each contributed a bucket.
