OHS’ Panthers have mixed results in District

Photo by Melissa Missildine You win some, you lose some... as was the case with the Oakwood Panthers Varsity Basketball team this last week.
VS the Neches Tigers:
The Panthers took on the Tigers on their home court for their second district game of the season. This 69- 43 win brought them a little bit closer to the title they are reaching for. In this game, Bryson Randle picked up 10 points, a rebound, a steal, and a assist. Shaquille Caldwell got 8 points, 8 rebounds, 7 blocks, a steal, and an assist. Jacquez Anderson got 19 points and had 7 rebounds with 6 as- sists. Damiyne Durham topped the score board with 24 points. He also picked up 7 rebounds, 3 blocks, a steal, and 6 assists.
VS the Douglass Indians:
The Panthers suffered a small setback with a 50-71 loss to Douglass. Damiyne Durham again had the high score again with 28 points. He had a block, a steal, and a couple of assists too. Anderson had 14 points and 2 rebounds in this game.
The Oakwood Panthers will be in Laneville on Tuesday to take on the Yellow Jackets. They hope to get back on track to winning a District title. They will play again on Friday night at home against the Wortham Bulldogs.
