Van’Go’photo The JV Bison and the Eustace Bulldogs were well matched and their game on Tuesday at the BHS gym was exciting. The score was often tied or the teams separated by only a narrow margin. In the fourth quarter the advantage swung the Bison's way but late in the game EHS players began to connect on three-pointers. Buffalo held a one-point lead in the final seconds but Eustace made one more from beyond the arc to go ahead 29-27. BHS had only 7 seconds to take the game back and the basket eluded them, so Eustace got the come-from-behind win.

Playmaker Layne Shelton scored in every quarter to lead the Bison with 14 points. O.T. Garcia added 5, Jose Nava 4, and David Espino and Josue Roldan each sank a bucket.

It was a very determined Bison team that took the floor at Blooming Grove on Friday, with a somewhat different roster. Nava was pulled up to the Varsity squad and sophomore Trent Martin was finally released to play after breaking his leg during football season.

BHS came out strong, with 4 players scoring in the first quarter. George Holguin had a big second quarter to put the Bison on top at halftime, 28-14. Shelton carried the third quarter and Roldan and Hunter Chapman knocked down three-pointers in the third as BHS notched a big win, 54-34. Garcia and Martin led the rebounding, Shelton and Garcia led the defense in steals and the scoring was very balanced with contributions by Shelton (12), Garcia (11), Martin (10), Roldan (9), Holguin (7), Chapman (3) and Simon Abel (2).
