Buffalo 4-H Omelet Supper - Friday, January 27, 2012, 5:00 – 7:00 pm. Held at Buffalo High School Cafeteria during Buffalo vs Leon Basketball Games. Adults $6.00 – Children (Under 12) $5.00. Proceeds benefit Buffalo 4-H Club Scholarships.

The newly-formed OAKWOOD COMMUNITY HELPING HANDS CLUB has established that their meetings will be on the second Thursday of each month at 10 a.m. in the annex of the Methodist Church in Oakwood. Lone Star Patriots of Leon County’s monthly meeting is held on the 4th Thursday of every month.

Flo Volunteer Fire Department meets the first Thursday of each month for their monthly business meeting at the Flo Community Center at 7:00 p.m.

Oakwood now has an Alcoholics Anonymous meeting place. The old Henry Chapel Church, on the corner of Moody and River Bend Road (1 block off Main St. before the 542/831 split), now houses AA meetings every Sunday at 10 a.m., Tuesday at 6:30 p.m., Thursday at 6:30 p.m., and Friday at 8:00 and 10:00.
