It took the jury less than five minutes to find Billy Joe Harris, aka The Twilight Rapist, guilty of raping a disabled Edna woman in January 2011. Graveside services were at 3:00 p.m. Monday, September 26, 2011 at Shanks Cemetery near Kirvin with Pastor Eston (Buddy) Turner officiating. The 2011-12 high school rodeo season has begun, and if Rodeo #1 is a good indicator, Leon County cowboys and cowgirls are going to have another strong showing in THSRA Region IX.   Rodeo #1 was held at Navasota on September 11th, and the Grand Entry included a 9/11 Tribute, with contestants riding in patriotic colors.  More...
