It’s Gospel Singing Time Again @ Hiway Tabernacle Church of God. June 22, 2011. Hwy. 75 So. 1 mile @ 7:00 p.m. There will be refreshments after the singing. For information call 903-322- 5265. The class will be taught by CPR instructors from Emergency Medical Resources. AARP meeting - Our next meeting is Tuesday, June 21 at the Buffalo Civic Center. Please try to attend (it will be cool)! Mr. Bennie Elmore with Next Stop Incorporation will give us some very important information about telephones for people who have hearing problems. Most of us qualify! Bring a friend, food, and good fellowship will be the result. McGregor Field Day - There will be a jointly sponsored Field Day at the Texas AgriLife Research Station outside of McGregor on June 23rd. Several topics will be covered and CEU’s for Laws & Regulations and IPM will be available to attendees. Barbecue luncheon will be served, and there is no charge for attendance or the meal. The class will be held at the Jewett Civic Center located at 111 N. Robinson, Jewett, Texas. The cost is $20.00 per person. Flo Volunteer Fire Department meets the first Thursday of each month for their monthly business meeting at the Flo Community Center at 7:00 p.m. Oakwood now has an Alcoholics Anonymous meeting place. The old Henry Chapel church, on the corner of Moody and River Bend Road (1 block off Main St. before the 542/831 split), now houses AA meetings every Sunday at 10:00 a.m., Tuesday at 6:30 p.m., Thursday at 6:30 p.m., and Friday at 8:00 and 10:00. Anyone needing the support of an AA group is welcome to attend.
